Have your kids join our community of young makers as they learn new tech skills & have fun! Our 7-week tech camps will have them learn laser cutting, 3D printing, coding and other skills as they work towards a final project.
For kids 6-12 years old, both experienced & new makers alike, at our 1052 Bloor St. West location.
Pricing
$250 for 7-week camp (~$35/session), includes all materials, facilitation & a take-home tech project from each session.
Weekly Camp Schedule - 2 sessions to choose from:
After-School Club – Thursdays 3:30-6, kids can arrive anytime after 3:30, and will start the day’s activities when they arrive, current sessions runs until Oct 23, 2025 (7 sessions) *Next session starts Thurs Nov 6 - Thurs Dec 18th
Saturday Morning Camp – Saturdays 10am-12pm, current session runs until Oct 25, 2025! (7 sessions) *Next session starts Sat Nov 8 - Sat Dec 20th

- Snacks for all camp days, $50
- Snacks are a mix of items such as fruit, carrot sticks, oatmeal cookies and natural juice.
Themes for Session 2:
Week 1 - Flexible 3D prints
It’s the first week back at Maker Bean Camp and we’re kicking things off with a custom spin on our best selling flexi cats! Campers will get a crash course in TinkerCAD, a 3D modeling software for beginners and kids, then design their own flexible wiggly characters!
Week 2 - Poseable Monkey Plushie
Today campers will create super cute laser cut Monkey Plushies with wire armatures that make them move! We’ll start by bending our wires into the shape of the monkeys arms and legs, then we’ll sew up our lasercut plushies with the armatures and a bit of stuffing inside! Finally we’ll decorate our plushies with lasercut pieces to bring them to life!
Week 3 - Amazing Animations with WickEditor
Today campers will do a deep dive into the world of animation by creating their own gifs! Campers will get a crash course in WickEditor, a 2D animation software for beginners and kids, then they’ll get to work creating their amazing animations! We’ll wrap up the day by gathering our chairs around the projector and sharing our animations with the group!
Week 4 - Glowing Laser Cut Snowflake - Design
To celebrate the snowy season, campers will be creating their own Snowflake Lamps with the help of Adobe Illustrator! We’ll learn all the different ways to create radial patterns and design a beautiful and unique snowflake. Then we’ll laser engrave our snowflakes on a piece of clear acrylic to attach to our lasercut lamps next week!
Week 5 - Glowing Laser Cut Snowflake - Assembly
Today we’ll complete the laser cut Snowflake activity we started next week! We’ll start by learning how circuits work before wiring up an LED light. Then we’ll assemble the base of our lamps, add our engraved acrylic pieces from last week and install our lights to make them glow!
Week 6 - Code a Flying Game with Scratch
Today campers will get a crash course in scratch, a coding platform for beginners and kids, and code their own flying games with power ups and obstacles! Then we’ll have some time to swap computers and all play each other's games!
Week 7 - Mars Rover
It’s the final frontier of Maker Bean weekly camp for 2025! To celebrate we’ll build our own Mars Rovers that drive around! We’ll learn about how circuits work before wiring up a motor! Then we’ll build the body of our mars rovers with laser cut pieces! Finally we’ll install our motors to make our Mars Rovers go!
