Week 1: Custom Plushie - Illustrator

In this two part activity campers will design their own custom plushies in Adobe Illustrator. We’ll learn how to use outlining tools to make cut lines for laser cutting, as well as how to create and use pattern brushes to add sewing holes to our design.

Week 2: Custom Plushie - Assembly

Campers will receive the felt pieces they designed last week to sew together into one of a kind plushies!

Week 3: Wick Editor

Campers will create amazing animations with WickEditor, at the end of camp we’ll gather around the projector for Maker Bean theatre to share our animations with the group!

Week 4: Ferris Wheel

Campers will combine hands-on crafting with electronics to create a ferris wheel that really works!

Week 5: Custom 3D Printed Lamp - Design

In this two part activity campers will create 3D printed lanterns to light up the night! Today we’ll create designs in TinkerCAD, a drag and drop 3D modelling software for beginners and kids, to be printed in crystal clear filament so they glow!

Week 6: Custom 3D Printed Lamp- Assembly

Campers will receive the 3D prints they designed last week and turn them into glowing lanterns. We’ll wire up an LED circuit and build a wooden base to house our electronic components before installing our 3D prints on top!

Week 7: Scratch Games

Campers will learn how to code a simplified version of a classic platformer game with their own characters, levels and obstacles!
